Luxury Engineered Hardwood
Floors crafted for the world's finest spaces.
Hakwood is a Dutch family company founded in 1979, still led today by cousins Mark and Robert Hak. Every plank is made entirely in-house at their Netherlands factory, passing through 17 dedicated quality checkpoints before it leaves the building. With European Oak and Ash sourced from FSC-certified forests and a conditioning process decades in the making, Hakwood sets the standard for what engineered hardwood can be.
The art of the plank.
For decades, Hakwood has refined the craft of hardwood flooring — sourcing slow-grown European timber and finishing it with oils, lacquers and surface textures that reveal the natural grain rather than mask it.
The result is a collection of floors with depth and individuality, specified by architects and designers for residences, hospitality, retail and yachting projects around the world.
DuoPlank® Construction
Hakwood invented the DuoPlank® process, bonding an air-dried hardwood top layer to a Baltic birch plywood backer with formaldehyde-free glue. The result is one of the most dimensionally stable engineered floors in the world, built to perform across all conditions and seasons.
European Oak & Ash
Every species is sourced from FSC-certified European forests, selecting from mature trees aged 100 to 200 years. Hakwood sources 100% of its oak within the EU, chosen from the base and trunk where the grain is most uniform, consistent, and beautiful.
17 Quality Checkpoints
Every plank, parquet tile, and panel passes through 17 dedicated quality inspections before leaving the factory. Because production stays entirely in-house in the Netherlands, Hakwood can inspect at every stage of fabrication, not just at the end.
